Share Notes Privacy Policy
Share Notes lets you save text, links, images, and files by sharing them from other apps.
No app server, no account database, no token storage
Share Notes does not operate an app server for your notes, files, Google account, or sync data. The website at share-notes.maksonlee.com only serves the static web app files to your browser.
After the web app is loaded, it runs on your own device in your browser. We do not collect, receive, store, or process your Share Notes content, Google OAuth tokens, Google account data, sync metadata, files, or usage activity on our servers.
Data we store
Share Notes stores the content you share into the app locally on your device or in your browser's site storage, including text, URLs, file names, MIME types, timestamps, optional URL preview metadata, and optional file contents.
When Share Notes creates URL previews, your device may directly request the shared web page and preview image from the linked website. Those requests are made from your device, not through a Share Notes server.
Chrome extension
If you install the Share Notes Chrome extension, it runs when you click the extension action or its context menu item. The extension may read the current page URL, page title, selected text, clicked link URL, and page preview metadata so it can save the content you asked it to save.
The Chrome extension sends that share payload only to an open or newly opened Share Notes web app tab at share-notes.maksonlee.com. It does not request Google Drive access, handle Google OAuth tokens, write Google Drive data directly, collect background browsing history, sell data, use data for advertising, or send your Share Notes content to a Share Notes server.
Google Drive sync
If you enable Google Drive sync, Share Notes uses Google Drive appDataFolder to store and sync your Share Notes data across your devices. The app uses the drive.appdata permission only for app-specific data created by Share Notes.
Share Notes does not read, scan, or manage your general Google Drive files.
On the web app, Google OAuth access tokens are used in your browser to call Google Drive directly. They are not sent to or stored on any Share Notes server.
Share Notes intentionally does not keep a server-side Google refresh token. On the web app, this means you may need to authorize Drive again after the browser access token expires or after returning later.
Limited use
Share Notes uses the data you choose to save only to provide and improve its save, view, delete, and sync features. Share Notes does not sell your data, use it for advertising, or transfer it except as needed for features you choose, such as syncing through your own Google Drive app data storage.
Website hosting
The Share Notes website is a static download site for the web app. It does not provide an application backend, account database, analytics pipeline, or sync service.
On the web app, files downloaded for offline or faster access are stored in your browser's site data using IndexedDB for share-notes.maksonlee.com.
Deletion
You can delete shared items in the app. Deletion records may be kept in Google Drive app data storage to prevent deleted items from reappearing on other synced devices.
